1場:永遠の命の約束 The promise of eternal life ２曲

45. アリア
I know that my Redeemer liveth, 私は知っている、私のあがない主は
And that He shall stand 生きておられるのを。彼は立つであろう、
at the latter day upon the earth; 後の日に、この地上に。
And though worms destroy this body, うじ虫がこの体を朽ち果てさせても
Yet in my flesh shall I see God. 私の肉にあって神を見るであろう。
For now is Christ risen from the dead, 今やキリストが死から復活され、
The first fruits of them that sleep. 眠ったものの初穂となられたから

46. 合　唱
Since by man came death 一人の人（アダム）によって死が来た、
By man came also the resurrection of the dead.同じように一人のお方（イエス）によって
死からの復活が来た。
For us in Adam all die, アダムによって死が来たくらいなら、
Even so in Christ shall all be made alive. キリストによってすべての人が生かされるのは当然である



2場:審判の日 The Day of Judgment ２曲

47. 伴奏付レチタティーヴォ
Behold I tell you a mystery; 見よ、私はあなた方に秘密を告げる;
We shall not all sleep, 我らは皆眠るのではない、
but we shall all be changed, 我らは皆変えられるのである、
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye 瞬時に、まばたきの間に、
at the last trumpet. 終わりのトランペットが鳴り渡る時に

48. アリア
The trumpet shall sound, and the dead ラッパが鳴り渡ると、死んだ者が
shall be raised incorruptible, 不朽なるものによみがえる、
and we shall be changed. そして我らは変えられるであろう。
For this corruptible must put on incorruption. この朽ちるものは朽ちぬものを着、
And this mortal must put on immortality. この死すべき者は
不死なるものを着なければならないのだから



3場:罪の最終的克服The final conquest of sin ４曲

49. レチタティーヴォ
Then shall be brought to pass その時、出来事として起きるであろう
the saying that is written 書かれている言葉が、
Death is swallow'd up in victory. 「死が勝利に呑まれてしまった」と

50. 二重唱
O death, where is thy sting? おお死よ、お前の刺はどこにあるのか。
O grave, where is thy victory? おお墓よ、お前の勝利はどこにあるのか。
The sting of death is sin; 死の刺は罪であり;
And the strength of sin is the law. そして罪の力は律法(ユダヤ)である

51. 合　唱
But thanks be to God, まことに感謝すべきかな
who giveth us the victory 私たちに勝利を与えてくださった神に、
through our Lord Jesus Christ. 主イエス・キリストをとおして。

52. アリア
If God be for us, もし神が私たちの味方なら、
who can be against us? 誰が私たちに敵対できようか？
Who shall lay anything 誰が訴えることができよう
to the charge of God's elect? 神に選ばれたものを？
It is God that justieth. 神こそが義としておられるのに。
Who is he that condemneth? 誰が断罪できるか？
It is Christ that died, 死なれたキリストが、
yea rather, that is risen again, 否むしろ、復活された（キリストが）
who is at the right hand of God, 神の右にあって、
who makes intercession for us. 私たちのために執り成していて下さるというのに



4場:メサイア称賛 The acclamation of the Messiah 　１曲

53-4. 終曲合唱
Worthy is the Lamb that was slain 殺害された小羊にこそふさわしい、
And hath redeemed us to God by His blood, その血をもって神に我らを贖った方、
To receive power, and riches and wisdom, 力、富、智恵、強さ、誉れ、栄光
and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. そして讃美を受けることが。
Blessing, and honour, glory and power, 讃美と栄誉と栄光と権力とが、
Be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, 玉座に座しておられる神にあれ、
And unto the Lamb for ever and ever. そして小羊に、永遠より永遠に。
