母の日が近かったからか、花屋に売られてた。前からほしかったミニバラ！
母の日のプレゼントは既に手配しているので、これは自分用です。
600円弱で、まだ蕾の段階の買いました。
綺麗に咲いてくれるかな。

once for each year of his life. ”（statement by Westminster Abbey)

The tenor bell is the largest of the Abbey's ten bells
and is traditionally tolled upon the death of a member of the Royal Family.

WESTMINSTER ABBEY is the place I would like to visit again after this pandemic.
Westminster Abbey serves the Church of England and the Royal Family.
This Gothic abbey church is located in Westminster, London, and it's just so astonishing!
The gothic architecture, the beauty, the history and the power...

It is one of the United Kingdom's most notable religious buildings and the traditional place of coronation and a burial site for British monarchs.

R.I.P.
Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh

The Duke of Edinburgh has died at the age of 99, on the 9th of April Friday.
A statement from Buckingham Palace said
"It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces
the death of her beloved husband,
His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
His Royal Highness passed away peacefully
this morning at Windsor Castle."

Saddened to hear of the death of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
May his soul rest in peace.
My deepest condolence to her Majesty the Queen and the Royal family.

This is a sad day. A big loss.
He reminds me of my grandfather and grandmother who passed away years ago...
Although I'm not from this prominent royal family, just a nobody, I still really feel sad for the Queen and his family.
It's always sad to face the death of beloved family member whether you're a member of Royal family or a commoner.

One thing I'm glad is that at least he died at Windsor castle...
He was also able to spend the last few weeks with his beloved wife, the Queen and his family after he discharged from hospital about 3 weeks ago.
I wished he could make it to his 100th birthday which is 2 more months to go...
But God has taken him...
So I just pray for his soul to rest in peace...

(My grandparents also died in their late 90s... We wanted them to make it to 100 but none of them made it...)

Prince Phillip is one of the very few people I respect in this world, apart from my own parents and grandparents.
He was a very intelligent energetic responsible dutiful gentle man. He dedicated his life and love to his wife, the Queen, to his family and to his country which he served.
If there is another world, I pray that he could finally meet his mother and beloved sister who died very long time ago...

He was the beloved husband to Queen Elizabeth, father to Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward. Grandfather to 8 including Prince William, Zara Phillips, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie; and Great-grandfather to 10 children.
Amazing life.

Prince Philip had been by the Queen's side throughout her 69-year reign, the longest in British history.

His life was long and extraordinary.
He also fought at World War II and played a key role in modernizing the monarchy.

I also always enjoyed his controversial comments on things which I often time agreed with him deep in my heart (LOL).
He was also famously known for his charitable efforts, which focused on younger people, wildlife conservation and battling the scourge of climate change.

But what made me respect him the most is his unyielding devotion and love to the queen.

5日後...
赤が深まった気がする。
とても綺麗なので、元々ダイニングに飾ってたが、ダイニングにいる事はほぼないので、在宅勤務部屋に飾った。その後も、リビングや寝室に移動したり、あちこちに。かなり、長くもったと思う。

そして、50日後の現在............
完全にドライフラワーになりました笑
捨てるのもったいないから、まだそのままにしている。

ガラスの花瓶に入れた。
最高のインテリア

今回の薔薇は、大きい。品種はわからないけど、綺麗。
日本のお店からだけど、アメリカにいる相方が全部手配してくれた。
そういえば、もう1年近くあっていない。
もう、むこうはワクチンを接種済なので、状況をみて6月に戻ってくる可能性もあるけど未定。
相方は元々、日本で働いてた。
コロナもあって、去年、本社のアメリカに呼び戻されたのだ。
今はアメリカで、彼の両親と暮らしている。
なんだかんだで、異国の日本より、アメリカで親と一緒にいる方が安心だろう。
このブログも、元々、相方と共有してたものだけど今は完全に私がのっとってます笑。
（このブログのワンピースなどの感想は、相方が半分ぐらい書いてました笑。今は、ワンピースは、読んでないとのこと。）

お花の写真をアップするだけの記事です。
お花はすぐに枯れてしまうから、写真にたくさん納めたい。
先月のバレンタインに、アメリカにいる相方が贈ってくれたものだから今はもう枯れているけど、捨てるのがもったいないので、ドライフラワーにしている。
赤いバラは大好き。
自分でも育てたいけど園芸には自信がないので...
花束でもらうのが一番うれしい。
薔薇は色んな色があるけど、私が好きなのは赤。深い赤！

先月のバレンタインに、アメリカにいる相方が贈ってくれたプレゼント

私は、お花の中でも赤い薔薇が好き。
ロマンチックな事は苦手だけど、でも、赤いバラはロマンチックというより、ゴシックなダークファンタジー感がするから大好きです笑。明るい赤やピンクより、深い赤が好きです。
私の好みを知っている相方は、学生時代の時から、いっつも、バレンタイン、または誕生日になると、プレゼントに加えて、赤い薔薇を贈ってくれます。

今度は、21本の薔薇でした。
ありがとう！！

『The Brides of Aberdar』by Christianna Brand

The book I ordered has finally arrived!
I was only able to find the used version.
It’s gothic romance + horror fiction.
There are adorable twin-sisters in the story and also some dark past that leads to tragedy.
I heard there is incest secret in the story too but I haven't read it so I'm not sure.
Nothing can win Game of Thrones when it comes to incest but I'm just curious.

Before I read “The Three-Body Problem”, I need to finish reading “Fire and Blood”. ( I’m also half way re-reading ASOIAF 3rd novel “A Feast for Crows” but I’m gonna stop for a while since it’s too sad to go on)
"Fire and Blood" is basically about the Targaryen History.
It's like reading a history book of Westeros.
So I imagine myself as young Cersei or Jaime, studying the history of Westeros! lol

I need to finish all the Game of Thrones related books before spin-offs coming out.
I'm not really fond of some spin-offs but I guess I will watch all.
I'm excited about the House of Dragon though!
