副大統領の家を通り過ぎて、昔のままの様子の副大統領の家を通り過ぎて、ホワイトハウスに行ってみました。公園の周りには大きなフェンスが残っていて、ホワイトハウスの周りにも永久的なフェンスがありますが、公園の中にある二次的なフェンスは、選挙以来ここにあった工事用のトレーラーと一緒に撤去されようとしています。

すべてのことが終わった後、私はカロラマ周辺の歴史ハイキングをすることにしたので、この地域と、ホワイトハウスでの任期の前または後にそこに住んでいた元大統領の家のいくつかをもっと見ることができます。また、いつものように昼食をとることにしました。

Took a trip past the Vice President’s house where everything seems to be pretty much as it was, and then on down to the White House where there have been a few changes as they are starting to remove some of the fence from Lafayette Park. Granted the big fence around the park remains, and the permanent fence around the White House as well, but a secondary fence inside the park is now being taken out, along with some of the construction trailers that have been here since the election.

After all that I decided to take a bit of a history hike around the Kalorama neighborhood so you can see more of the area and several of the homes of former Presidents who lived there either before or after their term in the White House. We also decided to eat some lunch, as always.
