『宮崎尊の入試英語スーパーマニュアル』(旺文社 1991年)は、今から25年前の本ですが、内容は充実していますね。入試という枠に留まらず、基礎的な英語を再復習したい社会人にとって最適の本といえます。
考えてみれば、英語がこの25年間で大幅に変化しているわけでもなく、基礎的な事柄に変化はありませんね。
また、現在では年配になった英語の達人が英語を勉強したのは40年前から50年前であり、その頃の英語と現在の英語とで大きな違いがあるかといえば、ないでしょうね。
英語をマスターしたか、マスターしなかったか、との違いがあるだけでしょうね。
本書において、特に、「基本英文100」は秀逸といってよいでしょう。
ここに選んだ基本英文100は、通常の文を読み、書くのに必須の文である。特殊構文は除いてある。英語学習のCORE(核)となるものだから、正確に暗記しなさい。
