仏の化身、観音の姿
信仰の灯、ここに灯りて
魚籃の菩薩、永遠に生きる

千手観音

千手観音ﾞ
梵名をサハスラブジヤといいます。
この観音は、一切衆生を漏れなく救うという誓
願により、千手の姿となったといわれています。
また千の眼はそれぞれの掌にあるところから、千
手千眼観音とも呼ばれます。
千という数字は、広大無辺をあらわします。一
切衆生を救済するための手や眼のとどく範囲が広
大であるということを象徴した、大慈大悲そのも
のの観音さまです。
このように、千手観音は、観音がもつ慈悲の力
をいちばん強調した姿といえ圭しょう。
また、千手観音には、二十八部衆といわれる、
二十八の護法神が巻属となっています。
