君はそれを疑うのか?
そういう高度の知能が出現しないかぎり、世界は間もなく終わるだろう。 ホモ・サピエンスが 今の知能水準であるかぎり、もはや、ヒトに未来はない。ホモ・サピエンスの文明はすでに限界 に達した。
未来社会があるとすれば、どうしてもそれは、高度なまったく新しい社会でなければならぬの だ。

もう間もなくやってくる未来社会で、人類は二つの種属にわかれるだろう。
それは、二つの民族でもないし、二つの階級でもない。二つの種属である。
そうして、その二つの種属は、しばらくのあいだ共存するけれども、間もなくその一方はおと ろえ、急速にこの世界からすがたを消してゆくだろう。
そういうと、人類が二つの対立を示すのは、なにも未来社会にかぎったことではなく、いまだ ってそうではないかと、いくつかの例をあげる人がいるかも知れない。
たしかに、それは、有色人種と白色人種、 自由社会と共産圏社会、富める者と貧しき者、支配 する者とされる者、 と、いくつか、かぞえることができるだろう。
だが、ちがうのだ。
そういう分類とはまったく異質の区分が、ごく近い将来、われわれの世界にあらわれようとし ている。そういう動きが、すでに現在おこりつつある。
それは、二つのヒト属である。
あたらしい人類とふるい人類。
ひとつは普通の現代人、ホモ・サピエンス Homo-sapiens である。これがふるい人類だ。
もうひとつは、特殊な能力を身につけた未来人、ホモ・エクセレンス Homo-excellens である。つまりあたらしい人類だ。
どういうヒトか?
ホモ・サピエンスとは、ほかならぬわれわれ自身のことであるが、ホモ・エクセレンスとは、
ホモ・エクセレンスとは、ホモ・サピエンスが持たない特別な能力を身につけた「優秀なると 下」という意味である。ある人たちは、この未来人に、ホモ・インテリゲンス (聡明なるヒト)と いう名をつけている。
では、この優秀なる未来人、ホモ・エクセレンスは、どういう特殊な能力を持っているのか? 彼の持ついくつかの特長をあげてみよう。

オリヴィエ教授は、生物学の進化の法則の上に立ってこう予言するのだ。
「.........未来のヒトは間もなく不意に来ることになる」
というのは、
