11月20日は世界こどもの日。 "Universal Children's Day"

子供の相互理解、福祉を増進させるため1954年に国際連合が制定した、「国際デー」の一つ。
国際連合では日付までは指定しておらず、それぞれの国に委ねられている。
多くでは、「児童の権利に関する宣言」" Declaration of the Rights of the Child" (1959)
「児童の権利に関する条約」 "United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child" (1989)が採択された11月20日を指定している。

一方日本では、その日を「こどもの日」である5月5日としている。
