I had battled in Online Ranked Battle only with Water type Pokémon.
This is my third challenge.

Primarina,
Lanturn,
Cloyster,
Slowbro,
and Azumarill.

Gyarados, Cloyster, and Primarina are attackers. Lanturn receives Electric moves and Azumarill receives Grass type moves.
Slowbro can use Fire type attack and do Trick Room(For Primarina and Slowbro itself).


7battles, 3wins, 4loses.
It's a dissatisfied result…

This party is lacking Speed. The fastest Pokémon is Gyarados(S80).
Moreover, a combo of Trick Room Slowbro and slow Primarina didn’t work well. Rillaboom, Regieleki, and Thundurus… Their attacks of Grass and Electric types are too strong to activate Weakness Policy.

As an event, Magikarp of the different color was easy to get out of Pokémon’s dens before. This Gyarados is it.
Jolly Nature, most fast. It is spreaded EV to HP, and is held a Wacan Berry to receive Electric moves.

Good toughness! But it lacks Attack power.

It doesn’t need Dynamax! (Dynamaxing Cloyster has not so much meaning. Because its Ability doesn’t works)
After it bears an opponent’s attack with Focus Sash, the opponent has a move that has a priority, it can also attack with Ice Shard!(It has also priority +1)

They can move fast in the Trick Room!
Slowbro also can use Fire type attack moves. (Flamethrower or Fire Blast)

Thanks to Ability Sap Sipper, it can receive Grass type moves! (But Rillaboom’s G-Max Drum Solo ignores opponents’ Ability. Be careful!)

All attack moves. But its Attack and Sp.Attack Stats are low. Scald, Ice Beam and Aqua Jet are necessary. Draining Kiss can change to another move.


Azumarill and Lanturn worked well!
When Grass and Electric Pokémon are in an opponent’s party, The combo of Azumarill and Lanturn is very effective.
Opponents’ HP will reduce faster than us! (than Azumarill and Lanturn)

I want more power to Gyarados… Gyarados’ Ability is better to change to Moxie. There are many Pokémon who have Ability Defiant in Ranked Battle recently.
Ability Intimidate is a little difficult to use now.

I thought this party was strong before the battles. But the result is 3 wins and 4 loses… Type unified team is difficult to win! It never goes as I thought. But it makes the battle interesting!

I had enjoyed the Pokémon battles.

I fought in Online Ranked Battle with only Water type Pokémon!
Last time, I had used Gastrodon as an Electric killer, but this time I used Lanturn. Its Ability Volt Absorb erases damage of Electric attack, and restores Lanturn by 1/4HP.

Sharpedo’s Ability Speed Boost increases Sharpedo’s Speed Stat every turn!


9 battles, 5wins and 4loses.
In Casual Battle, I won 60~70%.
It’s not such a bad result!

Its IV(Individual Value) of Speed is 0. This Clawitzer has the lowest Speed Stat. By using Trick Room, It can move faster than many opponents.

This Clawitzer is slower than Aegislash without fail. (Aegislash’s Base Stat of Speed is 60, Clawitzer is 59)

Good Dynamax Attacker. But it has too low Defense and Sp.Defense Stats… It can’t receive many attacks.

It is immune to Grass type move.
When it receives Grass type move, the Ability boosts its Attack Stat. But it remembers Sp.attack moves. It is because Azumarill doesn’t want to blow Ferrothorn. Ferrothorn’s Ability Iron Barbs hurts physical attackers.
And Azumarill’s Sp.ATK Stat is higher than ATK. Moreover, Azumarill’s special attack moves are better than physical attack moves.
(Ice Punch 75, Ice Beam 90)(Water type, Scald has a Burn effect)

A combo of Rest and Chest Berry is very effective.


A combination of Lanturn(Volt Absorb) and Azumarill(Sap Sipper) worked well! Opponents usually sent out Electric and Grass type Pokémon. But I have received them easily thanks to these two Pokémon!
Outsmarting opponents is very fun! (Am I bad man?)

Sharpedo is a good attacker. But in terms of Defense, it is too unreliable to use as a main attacker.
Sharpedo is an unsteady Pokémon! If you use it, you can go through thrilling battles.
But I had enjoyed it!

[Ranked Battles with ONLY Water Type Pokémon!!]
This time, I battled in Online Ranked Battle with only Water type Pokémon!

Water type has only two weaknesses.(Grass and Electric) And thanks to Ability Sap Sipper, Azumarill is immune to Grass type moves. And Gastrodon is immune to Electric type moves.
Azumarill and Gastrodon are a good pair!

It is strong against Rillaboom. If an opponent uses Rillaboom, it is better that Gyarados deal with it than Azumarill. Rillaboom’s G-Max Drum Solo ignores Ability of Azumarill!

Gyarados’ Ability Intimidate is also nice! It decreases an opponent’s Attack stat.

High Speed and high power attacker!
When it uses Fisious Rend first, its attack power will be doubled(85→170). Its Ability Strong Jaw makes the attack more powerful.

It is not weak against Grass and Electric type.

But it was not so used. The strong Water Attack is not so needed for the only Water Pokémon team...

I didn’t expect that Azumarill is weak to Rillaboom. Rillaboom’s Grass type attacks are too strong for the Water type party! Its Ability Grassy Surge increases Grass type move by 1.3 times...

These members are weak against Freeze-Dry! This Ice type move is super effective to Water Pokémon.
So Gastrodon, Gyarados and Dracovish are very weak to this move. They take 4 times damage!!!

Dynamaxed Gyarados is super strong! Max Airstream is a very powerful and effective move. Gyarados is easy to use.

It was difficult to care about the bias of my Pokémon’s type. But all battles were thrilling and fun! 4 times weaknesses had scared me!

(Pokémon Sword and Shield)

From the release of the Crown Tundra, 4 fossil Pokémon can get their Hidden Ability. The Pokémon are Dracovish, Dracozolt, Arctozolt, and Arctovish.

This time, I had fought with two Sand Rush Pokémon.(Dracovish and Dracozolt)
The combo of their high Speeds in the Sandstorm and Fishious Rend (and Bolt Beak) is very strong.
Fishious Rend and Bolt Beak’s attack power are doubled when the user moves first!

I battled 4 times in Ranked Battle, and won 4 times!
In Casual Battle, I lost only 1 time.

Glare is a very nice non-damaging move! It can paralyze the target even if the target is Ground type! Glare’s accuracy is 100%! (Thunder Wave is 90%)

Thanks to Ability Serene Grace, its Air Slash has a 60% chance of causing flinch! If Togekiss lowers the opponent’s Speed by Thunder Wave, the opponent will definitely be annoyed!
The opponent will hardly move because of flinching and paralysis.

It can stop Dynamaxed Pokémon by Focus Sash and Thunder Wave.


It’s a very fantastic team! Strong! I was pleasant when the strategy I had come up with went well.
But Galarian Corsola and Amoonguss are natural enemies of this team!

Sandaconda is my favorite Pokémon. I am glad that Sandaconda’s Ability Sand Spit worked well. (When I used Sandaconda before, I couldn’t use Sandstorm weather well)

Dracozolt has a Weakness Policy. And Max Wyrmwind lowers an opponent's Attack Stat. So Dracozolt is easy to receive weakness physical attacks and activate Weakness Policy.

I had enjoyed the battles!

[Ranked Battles with ONLY Regi Pokémon!!]

On October 23, trainers became able to go to The Crown Tundra. By this, many Legendary Pokémon became able to be used in Online Ranked Battle.
In September and October, some strong Pokémon are banned in Ranked Battle. But these Pokémon-- Cinderace, Mimikyu, Rillaboon etc. went back to the Ranked Battle!
Ranked battle is very severe and fierce now.

All Regies are Legendary Pokémon. They have a high base stat of 580 except for Regigigas.
(Regigigas has a base stats of 670!!! But it has a very unfortunate Ability...)

It has a high Defence stat but it has many weaknesses. This characteristic is suitable for using Weakness Policy! It can also boost its Attack Stat by Max Knuckle.

But it has only one type. Regirock can receive only Rock type same-type attack bonus (STAB). It’s too bad for an attacker.

I want to start battles with Registeel or Regieleki. But these two are weak against Ground type. So I have held this Regice Air Balloon. Thanks to this item, Regice gets rid of Ground type attacks and defeats Ground Pokémon by Ice Beam!

Good supporter!
It can receive attacks of many types, but Regi’s are weak to Fighting and Ground type and also Registeel is.
So unexpectedly, Registeel couldn’t receive opponents’ attacks.

Sorry, I hardly used this Pokémon...
It has 670 total base stats. But its Ability Slow Start disturbs its strength. I grew it to physical tunk this time, but 4 Regis are weak to Fighting type move. Many Regis have not so high Speed Stat. So this team is scared of Max Knuckle very much!

Ability: Transistor

Moves: Thunder Cage, Ancient Power, Light Screen, Reflect

(Faster than S110 Pokémon after Max Airstream. S110 Pokémon are Latios, Latias, Genger and so on)

Crazily high Speed Stat!
Thanks to this Speed, it can do Light Screen or Reflect without fail.
Moreover, it has a super power of Electric type attack move! Its Ability Transistor boosts its Electric moves by 50%.


〈Regidrago〉

Ability: Dragon's Maw

Moves: Scale Shot, Thunder Fang, Hammer Arm, Dragon Dance

It has a very strong attack power of Dragon moves! Its Ability Dragon’s Maw increases its Dragon attack power by 50%!

It’s OK to be Jolly Nature. Because Regidrago has 80 speed stat. S80 Pokémon that like Togekiss, Mamoswine, Blaziken often have the most high speed.
So this Regidrago can be Jolly to compete with their speed.

[Impression of battles]
Each Regis has high base stats and different advantages. So they could win many times! (Even I sometimes failed)

If my playing skill is better, they may be able to over 1000th place in Ranked Battle. They are surprisingly strong! Regis are very tough.

The Regis team has a sense of unity. It’s interesting to battle with a characteristic team like this!

(Pokémon Sword and Shield)

I had been challenged Ranked Battles of Pokémon SwSh with only Ice type Pokémon!

Ice type can halve only Ice type attacks! Although Steel type can halve Normal, Grass, Ice, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Dragon, Steel, and Fairy attack…(9 types)
But Eiscue is strong to physical attackers. Alolan Ninetales can use Aurora Vail. So surprisingly, Ice types are good at defence!

Piloswine is a Physical tank, and Mamoswine is a Sp.tank. Both Piloswine and Mamoswine are strong against Charizard and Volcarona.

If Charizard or Volcarona is in opponent’s party, Piloswine will go first, and use Stealth Rock.
Stealth Rock halves both Charizard’s and Volcarona’s HP!
Piloswine itself can use Rock type attack.(Rock Tomb)


3 wins and 3 losses in Ranked Battle.

I sometimes force myself to use Frosmoth. (I wanted to use Frosmoth. It’s cute and interesting Pokémon!)
I had tried various things this time. But I somehow won 50%.
It's a pleasing result for me!

By its Ability Ice Scales, its Sp.Defence was doubled! But it will be stopped by Fire and Steel type Pokémon!
Frosmoth don’t have an attack against Fire or Steel type.
And this Pokémon takes 4 times damage from Fire and Rock type attacks!

Frosmoth has an effective Ability, but has many weak spots. It is maybe a strong Pokémon, but very difficult to use in this Ice only party.

If you are lucky, it will become stronger and stronger. But if you are unlucky, it will be defeated because of lowered Speed or Defence(Sp.Def) Stats.

It can increase Stats many times by Protect, Substitute, and Leftovers! It takes many turns. The opponent must be annoyed!!!


Glalie is a very interesting Pokémon!
I don’t know but maybe, Glalie is not a weak Pokémon.
It is important to be faster than the opponent’s Pokémon. Because it is better to use Substitute before opponents move.

Mamoswine and Piloswine are very nice! Piloswine is the most active Pokémon in this team. If an opponent sent out defensively strong Pokémon, it’s time to Fissure!

Luck is important to this party because of One-hit knockout moves and Ability Moody.
All battles were very thrilling and exciting!

This time, I had battled in Ranked Battle with ONLY Ice type Pokémon!
Ice type is not a strong type, but there are many interesting Pokémon. For example, Eiscue is immune to almost all physical attacks! (But the Mold Breaker Ability ignores Eicue’s Ice Face)

There are no Cinderace in Ranked Battle now. (This challenge had done in September,2020)

Ice type Pokémon have many(four) weak spots. Fire, Rock, Fighting, and Steel. On the other hand, Ice type is strong to only Ice type itself! So Ice type is a very weak type in terms of defence.
But Ice type has a very nice defence move, Aurora Veil. It halves both physical and special attacks! So surprisingly, there is a little worry of defence!

Now, Dracozolt is popular in Ranked Battle. And Ice types are very strong to Dragon type! It’s a nice trend to Ice Pokémon.

I had been under tension in Ranked Battles. And I could take good videos in only two battles. So I stopped.

Aurora Veil is a very strong move.

Almost all opponents were fainted in one blow.

There are some natural enemies of Ice Pokémon such as Volcarona or Aegislash. If you are bothered by such Pokémon, it’s time to do Sheer Cold! (It has only30% accuracy, but if it hits, the opponent will be fainted in one blow!)


All battles are very thrilling!
Eiscue must not receive Special Attack... Fire and Fighting attacks are too severe to Sandslash...
But Ninetales’ Aurora Veil had helped our Pokémon!

I was surprised by the power of Eiscue! Eiscue can drastically boost its Attack stats by Belly Drum.
Many Pokémon were fainted by Eiscue’s one attack! It was an exhilarating time.

There are two Fire Pokémon who change the weather. (Torkoal and Ninetales)
Torkoal can use Stealth Rock. It is an important move to Trick Room, because it lasts only limited turns. (If the opponent Pokémon has Focus Sash, we waste a precious turn)
On the other hand, Ninetales has a powerful Sp.attack thanks to Choice Specs.


2 wins and 2 losses in Ranked Battles.
In Casual Battles, I won more than 60 %.



〈Torkoal〉
Ability: Drought

Moves: Lava Plume, Yawn, Stealth Rock, Self-Destruct

It changes the weather by Ability Drought! It is important to the team (All Fire type) because harsh sunlight weakens Water type attacks.

This team’s aim is Trick Room of Chandelure and rampage of Marowak. This tactic has a severe turns limit. So Torkoal’s move Stealth Rock is a nice support to Marowak. If an opponent has Focus Sash, Marowak wastes one turn. Trick Room and Dynamax last only limited turns. Saving this one turn is very important!


〈Marowak (Alolan form)〉

Moves: Flare Blitz, Shadow Bone, Brick Break, Stone Edge

Crazy Destructive Force!!
By holding Thick Club, Its Attack stat is doubled! Under Trick Room, it can move ahead of almost all opponents. Many opponents are feinted in one brow of Marowak’s Max move!
I had a good feeling when Marowak OHKOs all three opponents!

(This Marowak’s Ability is Cursed Body. But Marowak has a better Ability Lightning Rod. There is no Pokémon who weaks to Electric in this team, so I choiced Cursed Body.)


〈Incineroar〉
Ability: Intimidate
Item: Weakness Policy
Nature: Adamant
Moves: Flare Blitz, Darkest Lariat, Cross Chop, Thunder Punch

Second Trick Room Attacker.
If there is Gyarados in the opponent team, I will send out Incineroar. It lowers the opponent’s Attack by Ability Intimidate, and it doubles its Attack by being attacked by Water(or other weak type) move.


〈Chandelure〉
Ability: Flame Body

Nature: Timid
Moves: Shadow Ball, Overheat, Memento, Trick Room

It uses Trick Room!
After using Trick Room, it leaves the rest to Marowak using Memento. (This move lowers opponent’s Attack and Sp.Attack by 2 ranks)

Moves: Pyro Ball, High Jump Kick, Bounce, U-turn

This Cinderace’s Ability is Blaze. Libero is much stronger than Blaze, but Libero changes Cinderace’s type even though it is an ONLY Fire team! (But I used Libero Cinderace before...)

This Cinderace had been sent out not so many times because it has only Fire type. It is better to have another type when we battle with only Fire Pokémon.


〈Ninetales〉
Ability: Drought

Nature: Timid
Moves: Flamethrower, Dark Pulse, Solar Beam, Scorching sands

While I have used Ninetales, I wanted Nintails Sp.Attack power. For example, It can’t defeat Water Urshifu in one brow(Solar Beam).
Holding Choice Specs, this Ninetales become stronger to Water Pokémon!

It can Change the weather to sunny by Ability Drought as Torkoal.


When I used Trick Room, I enjoyed very thrilling battles!(Because it lasts only limited turns. I had been in a hurry until the end of Trick Room)

I started to like Marowak because of its super Attack power! It’s a very interesting Pokémon. After these battles, I want to use Marowak in a normal party. (Not only Fire Pokémon)

I miss Libero Cinderace… It can change its type. Maybe, it’s one of the strongest Ability in type unified teams like this. If Libero Cinderace was in this team, the battles were much easier.

I had battled in Pokemon Sword and Shield’s Ranked Battles with ONLY Grass type Pokemon.
Grass type has many weak points (Fire, Ice, Poison, Insect, and Steel), so all the battles were thrilling!

Almost all members can do something to Cinderace. For instance, My Rillaboon specialized in Defence, so that it can endure Cinderace’s G-Max Fireball with Life Orb!

It is a rare case for Ferrothorn to hold Focus Sash. But it’s a good choice when it is used in the team with only Grass type.
Grass type’s weak points are Fire, Fling, Poison, Ice, and Bug. Stealth Rock is more effective to Fire, Fling, Ice, and Bug types that are Grass type’s bad opponents. There are only three Grass type Pokemon who can use Stealth Rock now! (Ferrothorn, Ferroseed, Delebi)
It can also defeat Cinderace by using Explosion!

It should not change the weather to sunny. This team is weak to Fire type! (The harsh sunlight makes Fire type moves stronger)

I wanted it to be used as a Dynamax ace, but it had gone to battle not so many times...

It’s the Dynamax ace!
Before the first battles, I thought that the Dynamax ace was Shiftry. But Flapple was much stronger than Shiftry. The combo of Ability Hustle and Dynamax is very good!

Boost its Speed by Max Airstream, and get a blow to activate Weakness Policy, lowering the opponent’s Attack by Max Wyrmwind. (Its Attack will be doubled)


I am beginning to dislike Cinderace. It is too strong for the team Grass type Pokemon only.
But I once succeeded in defeating Cinderace by Ferrothorn’s Explosion! It’s a nice pleasant feeling! (Of course, this team defeats Cinderase many times. Not this once)

Because it’s difficult to win, The pleasure of victory becomes larger than ordinary battles!
Grass type Pokemon have many weak types. So the battles are always thrilling! I enjoyed the battles, but my heart has been always thumping!
