Reimu's Pokémon blog (Japanese Pokémon trainer)

I had battled in Online Ranked Battle only with Water type Pokémon.
This is my third challenge.

Gyarados,
Primarina,
Lanturn,
Cloyster,
Slowbro,
and Azumarill.

Gyarados, Cloyster, and Primarina are attackers. Lanturn receives Electric moves and Azumarill receives Grass type moves.
Slowbro can use Fire type attack and do Trick Room(For Primarina and Slowbro itself).


7battles, 3wins, 4loses.
It's a dissatisfied result…

This party is lacking Speed. The fastest Pokémon is Gyarados(S80).
Moreover, a combo of Trick Room Slowbro and slow Primarina didn’t work well. Rillaboom, Regieleki, and Thundurus… Their attacks of Grass and Electric types are too strong to activate Weakness Policy.

Moves: Waterfall, Bounce, Earthquake, Ice Fang
EV spread: H100 A144 B4 D4 S252

Different Color!
As an event, Magikarp of the different color was easy to get out of Pokémon’s dens before. This Gyarados is it.
Jolly Nature, most fast. It is spreaded EV to HP, and is held a Wacan Berry to receive Electric moves.

Good toughness! But it lacks Attack power.


〈Primarina〉

Moves: Moonblast, Hydro Pump, Aqua Jet, Ice Beam

There are not so many turns of it…
This Primarina has a Weakness Policy. But there are many too strong Grass and Electric Pokémon in Ranked Battle! (Especially Rillaboom and Regieleki)
I was afraid of selecting this Pokémon. (also Slowbro who does Trick Room)


〈Lanturn〉

Moves: Scald, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Thunder Wave
EV spread: 125-58-58-76-76-67(Total: 460)

It is immune to Electric type moves!
It has only 460 total Base Stat. But its HP is high! Spreading EV to Defense and Sp.Defense, it gets pretty hard!


〈Cloyster〉

Ability: Skill Link
Item: Focus Sash
Nature: Jolly
Moves: Icicle Spear, Rock Blast, Shell Smash, Ice Shard

Great Attacker!
Thanks to Ability Skill Link, Icicle Spear and Rock Blast hit 5 times without fail! Its total power is 125! (25 per 1 hit)
It doesn’t need Dynamax! (Dynamaxing Cloyster has not so much meaning. Because its Ability doesn’t works)
After it bears an opponent’s attack with Focus Sash, the opponent has a move that has a priority, it can also attack with Ice Shard!(It has also priority +1)


〈Slowbro〉

Item: Expert Belt
Nature: Quiet
Moves: Psychic, Trick Room, Flamethrower, Ice Beam

It does Trick Room for Primarina.
Primarina and this Slowbro grew to be the slowest. (0 Individual Value, 0 Effort Value)
They can move fast in the Trick Room!
Slowbro also can use Fire type attack moves. (Flamethrower or Fire Blast)


〈Azumarill〉

Ability: Sap Sipper
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Relaxed
Moves: Scald, Draining Kiss, Ice Beam, Aqua Jet
EV spread: H252 A4 B156 C76 D20

Thanks to Ability Sap Sipper, it can receive Grass type moves! (But Rillaboom’s G-Max Drum Solo ignores opponents’ Ability. Be careful!)

All attack moves. But its Attack and Sp.Attack Stats are low. Scald, Ice Beam and Aqua Jet are necessary. Draining Kiss can change to another move.


Azumarill and Lanturn worked well!
When Grass and Electric Pokémon are in an opponent’s party, The combo of Azumarill and Lanturn is very effective.
Opponents’ HP will reduce faster than us! (than Azumarill and Lanturn)

I want more power to Gyarados… Gyarados’ Ability is better to change to Moxie. There are many Pokémon who have Ability Defiant in Ranked Battle recently.
Ability Intimidate is a little difficult to use now.

I thought this party was strong before the battles. But the result is 3 wins and 4 loses… Type unified team is difficult to win! It never goes as I thought. But it makes the battle interesting!

I had enjoyed the Pokémon battles.
