56% of Young Japanese Women Struggle to Get By
A survey of Japanese women in their 20s has found that 56% said they were struggling to get by. The survey was done in January by financial news site Money Book, and included 350 single young women from around the country.
Most of the women were educated, and many had regular jobs: 56% had graduated from a university or junior college, and at least 61% were full-time employees. But their average income was about 173,000 yen, or less than $1,600 a month...
