Far backcountry life in Japan

Since I am using water well, a forest hill at the back of my house is kind of a headspring.
I went walk around and got to the summit. It is good time to go there in winter since spring to autumn is busy and hot, and also afraid of mamushi, which is adder living wet place of mountain in Japan. I will strongly recommend protecting your legs with gaiters when you walk wet stream in the mountain. Unfortunately, there are no views from the summit but you can find some circle for a local ceremony there.

Kagura came to house this morning that prays for fire prevention and a huge harvest seems like traditional tour to every houses.



It is getting cold and already minus 5 degrees early in the morning. Nabe season. Nabe is cooking various things in a pot.

I originally thought 4 seasons are quarterly divided like 3 month spring, 3 month summer and so on. In Tokyo and Yokohama where I grown up, I really feel like so but in Nakagawa-machi, I feel spring and autumn are 1 month each and other 10 months are summer and winter. Spring and autumn are passing so quickly. Spring is around May and autumn is mid September to mid October. This 2-month is best visit.
