Far backcountry life in Japan

In autumn, we always think maple red and yellow tint colored mountains. Actually, harvest and flowers in autumn is still quite colorful. Red kaki (Japanese persimmons), yellow oranges and yuzu (citrons) and green kiwis for example. Autumn in this district is very short and will directly moving to winter.

Nakagawa is the river flowing down center of Nakagawa-machi. Since one of my hobbies is kayaking, I went down the river. I went down Nakagawa approx 5-6 times in last 20 years, but this year, I saw a lot of salmons. This is first time to see so many salmons running up a river. Many in a swift current of a river, many jumping over a river and many dead in the bottom of a river. Anyway, it was nice river trip.
