2017 No.2 To-ji Temple
The evening cherry blossoms at To-ji Temple are so bewitching.
The beauty is just like a lacquer ware.
The cherry blossoms in the daytime are beautiful, but in the night time it is so exceptional.
Fuji cherry tree which is the symbol tree of this temple showed us a wonderful bloom this year as well.
The cherry blossoms of To-ji Temple were late for a little flowering compared to the usual year, but they also showed a gorgeous appearance this year.
There were many cloudy days in this spring. But, if you enjoy the cherry blossom viewing at night, there is no problem...

2017 No.3 Gion-Shirakawa
This year, the cherry blossoms of Gion Shirakawa showed us a romantic beauty.
Clean water, beautiful Machiya (traditional japanese townhouses), glamorous cherry blossoms ... It really looks like a picture.
We had a lot of rain this spring, but the beauty of Gion is rather emphasized by the rain.
Although the light up event of this spring was canceled due to the surge of tourists, the cherry blossoms illuminated by the lights such as the restaurants are very beautiful too.
A little disappointing thing is that some foreign tourists ignore the signboards displayed "Keep out!" and are making small troubles around here and there.
However, as there are a lot of signboards that are not conspicuous, I think that trouble is inevitable.
At night, they are hard to see the letters of the signboard, so they are also hard to notice as no-entry areas.
It’s clear that new measures are necessary.

2017 Ranking No.4 Haradani-en Garden
Haradani-en Garden showed us a magnificent sight this year.
Anyway, no matter where you look, it is covered with cherry blossoms and various flowers and it can be considered as a kind of installation art.
It is a cherry garden that is just the opposite to the sophisticated Japanese gardens, so that's why you can experience a very unique space that can't get in any other garden.
Let's enjoy flower viewing in another world!

2017 Ranking No.5 Mii-dera Temple
This is a temple located in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture that is adjacent to the Kyoto City.
The buildings of this temple are just beautiful anyhow.
And they and cherry blossoms show you a wonderful ensemble.
There is also an observatory in wide precincts, and you can enjoy luxurious co-starring of cherry blossoms and Lake Biwa on sunny days.
A magnificent building (main hall) and cherry trees ... It's a majestic scenery.
The weather was not very good this spring, but we can't miss the beauty of cherry blossoms and temple buildings.
And near here, there are beautiful cherry blossom trees along Lake Biwa channeling, so come next year by all means!

2017 Ranking No.6 Tenryu-ji Temple
If you visit Arashiyama, the cherry blossoms in Tenryu-ji Temple are a must-see.
Various cherry trees are planted throughout the precincts, but the recommended is the weeping cherry trees planted along the cliff near Taho-den.
Tenryu-ji Temple buried in cherry blossoms ... It's a magnificent scenery that can see only here.
There are not so many cherry trees, but the view from the cliff is a must see!
By the way, from the observation deck in Arashiyama Park next to Tenryu-ji Temple, you can enjoy the wonderful scenery of Hozu-gawa Gorge.
It's also a magnificent view!

2017 Ranking No.7 Kyoto Gyoen National Garden
If you want to enjoy cherry blossom viewing, I recommend the north-west part of this site which is also near Imadegawa Subway Station.
There are a lot of big weeping cherry trees.
Anyway, it is a gorgeous place.
Some branches have drooped down to the ground level, and their surroundings always become like a photo session.
※ Please be careful not to touch petals and branches in a rowdy manner so that more people can enjoy cherry blossom viewing for as long as possible!
About 1000 cherry trees are planted in this site, early ones begin to bloom from the middle of March.
Recently, Kyoto Imperial Palace, Sento Imperial Palace, and Kyoto State Guest House have been opened to the public, so please come next year!

2017 Ranking No.8 Shosei-en Garden
Shosei-en Garden is an enclave precincts of Higashi-Hongan-ji Temple, and it is located in about 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station.
Although it is located in the city center, the garden is always filled with calm air.
Clean brook, elegant architecture, brilliant cherry blossoms ... it's splendid co-starring.
When I come here, I always take this cut...
There is not excessive direction to flatter tourists, so you can be relaxed very much just to walk in this garden.
And, there are not many ups and downs, so it's also recommended for a party with elderly person or small children.

2017 Ranking No.9 Takase-gawa River
This year, we had many cherry-blossom viewing under rainy weather.
However, the cherry blossoms along Takase-gawa River are recommended for rainy day.
Here is a tasteful waterfront in the city center of Kyoto, Machiya houses (townhouses) along the river are must-see.
The night life in Kiyamachi area, the entertainment district of Kyoto, can not explain without Takase-gawa River.
When you walk a little and come near Oike street, you can take a walk slowly, because there is a little traffic.
Along the river, there are also many restaurants (all budget is OK!) that are introduced on TV etc, and it is lighted up at night, so it is also recommended for dinner.

2017 Ranking No.10 Heian-jingu Shrine
This is a Shin-en Garden in Heian-Jingu Shrine.
The contrast with the cherry pink and the green roof or the vivid vermilion on the building is so wonderful.
This garden was designed by Jihee Ogawa Z who is a genius landscape architect in about 100 years ago.
The cherry tree shelves are tasteful too.
The flowering time is slightly slower, so the best time to see continues until the middle of April.

Following the last time, I tried picking up 4 places as the best time information of this weekend.
At first, this is Mii-dera Temple that is a temple located in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture that is adjacent to the Kyoto City.
There is Lake Biwa Canal near here, in conjunction with the precinct of Mii-dera Temple, these form a vast cherry attraction.
Next, is Tenryu-ji Temple in Arashiyama area.
The view from the top of the cliff is so wonderful!
Next, is red weeping cherry trees in Heian-Jingu Shrine (Shin-en Garden).
It will be the peak this weekend!
Next, it is Haradani-en Garden.
There are many red weeping cherry trees here, and these are still 50% to 70% blooming condition as of 4/14.
You are able to enjoy cherry blossom viewing during next week!
Finally, I present two images of night view as appendix.
The night view of cherry blossoms in To-ji Temple is one of the most beautiful scenery in Kyoto.
The night in Gion has been filled with sophisticated beauty.
Next week, I will post "2017 The ranking of cherry blossom attractions in Kyoto! ...by personal preference"
