Biden administration to require all companies with 100 or more employees to ensure workers are vaccinated or tested weekly

President Biden, who will outline several steps to deal with the coronavirus pandemic later Thursday, also plans to require health-care facilities that receive Medicare and Medicaid funding to ensure their staffs are fully vaccinated. The White House provided specifics on the president’s strategy in advance of his address.

The Justice Department is suing Texas over a new state law that bans most abortions, arguing that it was enacted “in open defiance of the Constitution.”

The lawsuit, filed Thursday in federal court in Texas, asks a federal judge to declare that the law is invalid, “to enjoin its enforcement, and to protect the rights that Texas has violated.”

Two Kabul-based diplomats confirmed the flight and said the manifest would allow 211 people to leave, including American, British, Italian, Dutch, Ukraininan and German passport holders. The permission comes as numerous planes containing people who wish to leave the country remain stuck at the airport in the northern city of Mazar-e Sharif.
