Kabul airport is ‘up and running,’ Taliban and Qatar officials say, as a flight is poised to take off with foreign nationals
Qatar’s envoy to Afghanistan, Mutlaq al-Qahtani, described it as a historic day for Afghanistan and said he expected another Qatar Airways flight to arrive Friday. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid also said the airport was ready and called for additional international assistance.
