To lower blood pressure,
●Public Health Nurse Consultation
At my current workplace, which I joined last September after changing jobs,
they pay more attention to health compared to my previous job.
At my previous job, they only made sure we had the legally required health checks.
But here, I've been able to have a comprehensive medical exam,
and both a public health nurse and an occupational physician are properly managing our health.
That's why a consultation with the public health nurse was scheduled for the beginning of January.
My consultation was on January 31st, from 1 PM for 30 minutes.
As I nervously entered the meeting room, a female public health nurse was waiting,
and her gentle demeanor made me feel at ease, creating a friendly atmosphere.
●High Blood Pressure
Since it was my first consultation since changing jobs,
we started with a simple greeting.
Then we confirmed my medical history.
I have various conditions, but the ongoing one is high blood pressure.
I was diagnosed with high blood pressure in 2011 and had been taking medication until June 2022,
when I stopped and have continued without it until now.
The public health nurse asked why I had stopped,
and I honestly replied that after starting to drink alkaline ionized water,
my blood pressure didn't rise much.
Of course, I bought a blood pressure monitor and measure it daily.
The nurse seemed surprised and asked how much of the ionized water I drink a day.
I said about 2 liters a day.
She seemed satisfied with that and also asked, "What about at work?"
I bring it in a water bottle, I said with a smile.
●Potassium
Additionally, the nurse mentioned that eating apples, which are high in potassium, every morning can also lower blood pressure.
Indeed, she told me that in Nagano, known for its apple orchards,
it would be good to eat apples every morning since they are readily available.
Research shows that the potassium in apples can help the kidneys expel sodium, lowering blood pressure.
Nuts also contain a lot of potassium, offering the same effect.
I love almonds, so I thought to myself with a smile, "That's great!"
●Exercise Too
And, moderate exercise also has the effect of lowering blood pressure.
Indeed, moderate exercise and a balanced diet seem to be good for health,
something I've been vaguely aware of but was confirmed by the public health nurse.
I'm so glad! (^▽^)
And I felt that drinking 2 liters of alkaline ionized water (i.e., reduced water) a day is also a good thing.
