Are hydrogen water and alkaline ionized water the same thing? Are they different?
●Different name
Separate names are often given to the same thing
But hydrogen water and alkaline ionized water are often thought to be very similar.
They are totally different!
●Characteristics of each
hydrogenated water
- Hydrogen water is water in which molecular hydrogen (H₂) is dissolved.
- The molecular hydrogen dissolved in water is believed to have antioxidant properties.
- The antioxidant effect of molecular hydrogen is expected to eliminate active oxygen species and reduce oxidative stress in the body.
alkaline ionized water
- It refers to water with an alkaline pH produced by electrolysis.
- Using an alkaline ionized water generator (usually using tap water), the water is divided into alkaline and acidic. The more alkaline water is then alkaline ionized water.
- Alkaline ionized water is believed to have the effect of balancing the pH of the body and also prevents oxidation in the body.
But they still look like each other.
Hydrogen water and alkaline ionized water both have the same antioxidant properties.
Antioxidant action means the ability to reduce.
It is said that there is a fine line between an oxidation reaction and a reduction reaction (?).
●The human body has a pH of 7.4.
The human body is best maintained at a pH of 7.4
However, as this becomes more acidic
If you're not careful, it could be life-threatening.
So why is it kept at pH 7.4? It is because
The pH of blood in the human body is normally maintained in the range of 7.35 to 7.45.
On average, the pH is maintained around 7.4.
The reasons why this pH is maintained and what happens when it is disturbed are explained below.
Why pH 7.4:?
A pH of 7.4 is the optimal range for enzymatic activity and metabolic processes in the human body.
Many enzymes in the body are most active in this pH range.
The pH of body fluids is regulated by respiration and kidney function.
The acid-base balance is maintained by expelling carbon dioxide through respiration and excreting it in urine through the kidneys.
When pH tends toward acidity:
Acidosis is a condition in which the pH of the blood becomes acidic.
Acidosis is classified into two main types: metabolic acidosis and respiratory acidosis.
metabolic acidosis: It is often caused by increased metabolites in the body (e.g., ketones, lactic acid) and kidney damage.
Respiratory acidosis:. It is caused by inadequate breathing and the accumulation of carbon dioxide in the body (e.g., chronic bronchitis, COPD, etc.).
As acidosis progresses, enzyme activity decreases,
Myocardial excitability and contractility may be reduced, and important biological processes that sustain life may be disrupted.
If the pH of the blood is significantly tilted toward acidity or alkalinity, this can be a life-threatening condition.
Thus, the body has many regulatory mechanisms to maintain pH within the proper range through respiration and renal function.
●Many adjustment mechanisms
buffer system
Breathing Adjustment
renal regulation
These regulatory mechanisms work in concert to prevent sudden fluctuations in the pH of blood and body fluids, thereby serving to maintain basic life-sustaining biological processes, enzyme activity, etc. at optimal levels.
Now, this is how the body regulates itself, but
It's not as if everything is perfect.
So, if we can help keep the pH at 7.4, if possible, from the outside, we can help keep the pH at 7.4.
It is thought that the burden on the body will be lightened.
Take alkaline foods.
Let's drink Kangen Water!
Drink alkaline ionized water.
Drink hydrogen water.
