Heat wave set new high temperature records, strains power supply
A heat wave across California set new high temperature records in some locations - including 120 degrees in Palm Springs - and authorities urged people to conserve electricity tonight as the extreme conditions tax the state's power grid. Another day of scorching temperatures is on tap for Sunday.
