Do you know Hitachi Seaside Park in Ibaraki Prefecture?
There are many sightseeing buses from Tokyo, so you may have been there.
This park has a really large site, and I think it's difficult to see it all only in one day.

The highlight of the Hitachi Seaside Park is Nemophila Hill.
Nemophila is a small plant that blooms small blue flowers, which grow in clusters on vast hills.
This time of year (early to mid-April) is in full bloom, so be sure to visit.
