In 2017, cherry blossoms in Kyoto seem to be a little delay to be in full bloom.

From weather forecast and the state of cherry blossoms such as Gion-Shirakawa,

it seems to take about a week for flowering.

In other words,
the flowering is from around 3/31, the best time is from around 4/5.


So this week, I write the ranking of last year and the forecasted day of the best time to see cherry blossoms.

"2017 The latest edition! The information of cherry blossoms in Kyoto"

This time is,

3 attractions of cherry blossoms that are going to be in full bloom after 4/10.


First, It is Omuro cherry trees at Ninna-ji Temple.

Most of Omuro cherry trees are only around 3m high, so you can enjoy cherry-blossom viewing on a different angle from other attractions of cherry blossoms.



Next is Yoshimine-dera Temple that is one of the famous temple in Nishiyama area.

The image above is Keishoin's weeping cherry tree. It is a cherry blossoms showing feminine elegance.


You can enjoy not only cherry blossom viewing but also a magnificent panorama like the image above, because it is located halfway up Mt. Shakadake.



Finally, it is Haradani-en Garden, near Ninna-ji Temple.

You will be surprised at the overwhelming amount of flowers in this garden.

It is truly amazing that cherry blossoms, forsythia, spiraea and so on bloom in profusion.

This time is,

5 attractions of cherry blossoms that are going to be in full bloom around 4/3〜4/7.


First, I introduce a cherry tree at Sanpo-in in Daigo-ji Temple.

This cherry tree will be in full bloom first at Daigo-ji Temple.

Also, it is a cherry tree that is very big and splendid.

By the way, Daigo-ji Temple is very wide, so the flowering time differs by more than one week depending on the location.



Next is Shosei-en Garden which is located in about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station.

There is no excessive production, and you can enjoy viewing the beautiful cherry blossoms and relaxing.



Next is Tenryu-ji Temple in Arashiyama area.

Cherry trees are planted here and there in the precincts, but the recommended are weeping cherry trees planted on a slope.

You will enjoy flower viewing while going up and down stairs.



Next is Mii-dera Temple in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture.

cherry blossoms in Kyoto is 3/28 blooming.

And, the full bloom date is expected on 4/5.

for several times.

This time, I introduce 3 attractions of cherry blossoms that are going to be in full bloom a little earlier.


First, it is a weeping cherry tree at Sannen-zaka stairs near Kiyomizu-dera Temple.

This cherry blossoms will be in full bloom about a week earlier than other cherry blossoms, and it seems to be the best time to see around 3/28.




Next, is cherry trees in Gion-Shirakawa area that is Kyoto's leading cherry attractions.

The pale pink cherry blossoms seem to be the best time to see around 4/1, the deep pink cherry blossoms are around 4/4.



Finally, the largest cherry blossoms attractions in the city center of Kyoto, is Takasegawa river.

It seems to be the best time to see around 4/2.

This time, I introduce nishiyama-area and the suburb of Kyoto city.


First of all, this is Ryoan-ji Temple.

The rock garden and cherry blossoms show us a splendid collaboration.

However, the past few years, it is remarkable that the tree vigor of this cherry is decreasing.

So, we can't see the former beautiful scene.

Around the pond is the another attaraction of cherry blossoms.

In recent years, here is more beautiful than the rock garden in cherry blossom season...


In addition, in the residential area in the vicinity, you can see some beautiful cherry and plum trees landscaped carefully here and there.

(Personally, here is my favorite.)

Next, is Hirano Shrine located close to Kitano Tenmangu Shrine.


Here is very crowded with a lot of people, because a large number of stalls open.

The cherry trees are planted about 400, so there is quite a volume.

This is Yoshimine-dera Temple which is located in Nishiyama area.

"The weeping cherry tree planted by Keisyoin" shows us a graceful appearance.


And, this landscape is a must-see than anything.

It is slightly hard to climb up here, but this is certainly worth seeing.

Finally, this is Kajū-ji Temple which is the famous temple in Yamashina area.

However, there are so many other attractions of them in Kyoto.

So, I will introduce some attractions of them should visit, if you have time to spare.

This time, I introduce higashiyama-area and the city center of Kyoto city.


First of all, this is Konkaikōmyō-ji Temple which is a big temple near from Nanzen-ji Temple.

These cherry blossoms near the big main gate are the highlight of this temple.



Around the graveyard and triple tower is also quite impressive view.

Next, is Maruyama Park which is on the back of Yasaka Shrine.

Here, the viewing cherry blossoms at night is so great.


In the evening, here is very crowded because so many stalls are opened.

Next is Takasegawa riverside which is the best cherry blossoms attraction in the city center of Kyoto.


The beauty of cherry blossoms at night is so great, but spectators are too many.


The image above is Ichino-Funairi near Oike Street.

In this area, crowds become to decrease slightly.

So I recommend to enjoy cherry blossom viewing in this area.


This is Kiyomizu-dera Temple.

Always crowded with a large amount of tourists.

These images are Haradani-garden which is located in about

a 30-minute walk from Ninna-ji Temple.

So many weeping cherry blossoms and various flowers

show us the spectacle of a masterpiece.



These images are Mii-dera Temple which is located in about 30 minutes

by train from the city of Kyoto (located in Otsu city, Shiga Prefecture).

This is one of the most beautiful and powerful attraction in and around Kyoto.



These images are Shosei-en Garden which is located in about

a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station.

It is a wide and valuable garden in the center of Kyoto.



These images are Daigo-ji Temple in the southern part of Kyoto.

You will be able to experience dynamic cherry blossoms.



Finally, These images are Shin-en Garden of Heian-jingu Shrine.

This garden was designed by Jihee Ogawa �Z

who is a genius landscape architect in about 100 years ago.



It should be noted, the following lists are the places that are in full bloom from now on.

in the north-west part of Kyoto Imperial Palace.

This is the No.1 attraction of cherry blossoms in Arashiyama area.



These images are Konkaikōmyō-ji Temple in Higashiyama area.

It is a big temple with a unique atmosphere.

Without many tourists, you will be able to watch cherry blossoms leisurely.



These images are To-ji Temple that is one of the best cherry blossoms attractions in Kyoto.

This is a big temple owns a lot of national treasure.



These images are Gion Shirakawa. Always in chic.

In the center of Kyoto, it is the famous attraction along with Takasegawa river.
