Went to Tokaebisu Festivaｌ for praying
Ebisu (恵比須, 恵比寿, 夷, 戎), also transliterated Yebisu (ゑびす) or called Hiruko (蛭子) or Kotoshiro-nushi-no-kami (事代主神), is the Japanese god of fishermen, luck, and workingmen, as well as the guardian of the health of small children. He is one of the Seven Gods of Fortune (七福神 Shichifukujin?), and the only one of the seven to originate purely from Japan without any Hindu or Chinese influence.
ということで、行ってきました十日戎。本荘の10日もお詣りに行ったのですが、縁起物を買うのは残り福にしようと思い11日に決行。
人がやばかったです・・・
外国の方もこのブログを見てくださっている方がいるようなので、おみくじを吊るした写真も。
The o-mikuji predicts the person's chances of his or her hopes coming true, of finding a good match, or generally matters of health, fortune, life, etc.
When the prediction is bad, it is a custom to fold up the strip of paper and attach it to a pine tree or a wall of metal wires alongside other bad fortunes in the temple or shrine grounds.
A purported reason for this custom is a pun on the word for pine tree (松 matsu) and the verb 'to wait' (待つ matsu), the idea being that the bad luck will wait by the tree rather than attach itself to the bearer.
In the event of the fortune being good, the bearer has two options: he or she can also tie it to the tree or wires so that the fortune has a greater effect or he or she can keep it for luck.
Though nowadays this custom seems more of a children's amusement, o-mikuji are available at most shrines, and remain one of the traditional activities related to shrine-going.

January 9th to 11th, TOKA EBISU Festival will be held at Imamiya Ebisu Shrine in Osaka.

Let's go for checking your English level.
みなさんこんばんは。
もう1/3も終わり、明日から世間一般では仕事が始まりますね！
沢山今年の抱負がありますが、このサイトに限って言えば、みなさんに
「英語に慣れてもらう、使ってもらう工夫」
を、もっとしていきたいなと思います。
そこで
こんなものを発見したので、腕試しに行ってみたいと思います(笑)
↓
「なんとかウサギ」でかの有名な英会話学校です。
実はアメリカ人の知り合いが数人働いていたりもするのですが・・・・
アメリカ留学から帰ってきて早10年になります。英語力は衰えてくるものです。
日本語のように英語を使っていれば話は別ですが…。
ということで、無料体験レッスンに行ってみたいと思います。
自分の英語力をその場で判定してくれて、どのレベルでのクラスなどを受講するべきか
教えてくれるそうです。。。
これは、元留学生としてはアドバンスレベルは当たり前に行きたいですね(笑)
また実際に行って体験しているところを写メ
することが出来ればなと思います(^^)
みなさんも年始に腕試しを！年末には少しでも英語力、外国人とのコミュニケーション力が伸びるといいですね♪

Snow in Kyoto again....
こんばんは。
京都は今夜も雪が降ってきました。
今日の朝は天気が良かったので大丈夫かなぁ？と思ってたのですが。。。
スキー場に行く雪はうれしいのに、
住んでいるエリアで雪が降るとなぜか外にでるのが億劫になりますね。。。
明日は晴れますように！
帰りがけの本能寺と・・・
鯛焼き（TAIYAKI）でございます
Taiyaki is a Japanese sweet made by baking batter in sea bream shaped molds, and it is mainly manufactured, sold and eaten in Japan.
Taiyaki is fish-shaped pancake filled with bean jam but now there are many flavors that you can choose
I think it'd be weird for foreign ppl... but it's yum!!!!
Can you explain what is Taiyaki if somebody ask you in English????

Happy New Year 2015 vol.2
Hi guys, it's already 2nd January here in Japan....
I just wanna write what I did on new year!!!!
京都で4台しかないと言われる四葉のタクシーを初詣途中に発見！！！
I found the car has a four-leaf clover luckily （It's said that the taxi has a four-leaf clover can exist only 4 taxi in Kyoto)
京都に住んでますけど、発見したの初めて！！！
I've been in Kyoto for a long time, but this is my first time coming across this taxi!!! lucky!
京都市内に住んでますので、八坂さんに初詣に！超雪すごかった・・・
I went to Hatsumode at Yasaka shrine and it's been snowing as you can see photos above.
About Hatsumode, I explained a bit about it on my last blog, so please check it out if you don't understand the meaning.
八坂さんの帰りがてら、祇園小石でちょいとお茶
On my way back home, stopped by shop named GIon-Koishi and had some rest...
Green tea with Green tea flavored pudding. It was delicious!!!! I like some candies over there.

帰ってからはオセチをいただきました。
I ate OSECHI when I got back home.

12/31は年越しそばを食べずにちょっとした宴会を。右に見えるのは大トロでございます！(笑)
言うまでもなく美味でした(^^)
I haven't eaten Soba on New year's eve and ate something like this... you can see fatty tuna on the right in this picture!!!! soooooo delicious.
ということで、充実したお正月を過ごして漫喫しています(^^)
来年もいい年を過ごせるといいな。
今年こそは、英語を一緒に頑張っていきましょう！！

今日は1/1ということで、初詣でに行ってきました。
Hatsumōde (初詣 hatsumōde) is the first Shinto shrine visit of the Japanese New Year. Some people visit a Buddhist temple instead. Many visit on the first, second, or third day of the year as most are off work on those days. Generally, wishes for the new year are made, new omamori (charms or amulets) are bought, and the old ones are returned to the shrine so they can be burned. There are often long lines at major shrines throughout Japan.
初詣は日本の年明けに初めて訪れる神社参りのことで、お寺さんに行く人もいます。
3が日が休みがほとんどのため、ほとんどの人が1日から3日までに初詣に行きます。
一般的に、願掛けにいったり、お守り買ったり、昔のお守りなどを返したりしてます。
日本の主要な神社はよく行列ができます(笑)
Most people in Japan are off work from December 29 until January 3 of every year. During the hatsumōde, it is common for men to wear a full kimono−one of the rare chances to see them doing so across a year[citation needed]. The act of worship is generally quite brief and individual and may involve queuing at popular shrines. The o-mamori (Amulets) vary substantially in price.
日本人のほとんどが12/29から1/3まで毎年お休みになります。初詣の間は、男性が着物を着るのも習慣です。
Some shrines and temples have millions of visitors over the three days. Meiji Shrine for example had 3.45 million visitors in 1998, and in the first three days of January 2010, 3.2 million people visited Meiji Jingū, 2.98 million Narita-san, 2.96 million Kawasaki Daishi, 2.7 million Fushimi Inari Taisha, and 2.6 million Sumiyoshi Taisha.Other popular destinations include Atsuta Jingū, Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gū, Dazaifu Tenman-gū, and Hikawa Shrine.
神社や寺によっては何百万人も人が訪れます。明治神宮は1998年には345万人、2010年には320万人もの人が訪れいますね。
298万人＝成田山
296万人＝川崎大師
270万人＝伏見稲荷大社
260万人＝住吉大社。
他にも熱田神宮、鶴岡八幡宮、太宰府天満宮や氷川神社などなど。
A common custom during hatsumōde is to buy a written oracle called omikuji. If your omikuji predicts bad luck you can tie it onto a tree on the shrine grounds, in the hope that its prediction will not come true. The omikuji goes into detail, and tells you how you will do in various areas in your life, such as business and love, for that year. Often a good-luck charm comes with the omikuji when you buy it, that is believed to summon good luck and money your way.
初詣の習慣としては、おみくじを買う事などですね（オラクルが書いてある）。もし、悪い運勢について書いてあったら、木などに結び付けたりします。その悪い運勢が自分に来ないように。
おみくじには人生について、仕事や恋愛について、一年を通しての運勢について書いてあります。
と、今日は1/1らしく、初もうでについての記事になりました。

OSECHI blog again!!!
New Year 2015 is approaching.
Let’s introduce OSECHI RYORI as a photo below.
This is Japanese traditional New Year’s foods eaten during OSHOGATSU (the first three days of January).
Traditionally in Japan, family members and relatives get together and eat OSECHI RYORI at home. This dish is generally cooked at each home, but in recent years, people gradually buy it at Department stores, convenience stores or even make a reservation in advance through the internet.

It has been a while since I wrote the last blog....
皆さんこんばんは。
Good evening everyone.
最後のブログがゆうに1か月以上前になってしまっていますね。
It's been more than a month since I wrote last my blog...
更新を怠ってすみません。
I apologize that I didn't keep writing my blog.
最近、つい今年の一月まで働いていた証券会社の自分の教え子が自殺をしました。
One of my trainee just had committed suicide on the other day and i have been feeling really bad for him.
自殺に追い込まれる前に相談してほしかったなと未だに悔しさでたまりません。
He should have told me something before he decides committed suicide... feeling so depressed.
すごく色々なことを考えた1か月になりました。
thinking various things in this month since he died.
また、ブログを少しずつ始めようと思います。
アクセスを見ていると、自分が更新していないにも関わらず、訪問してくれる人に
申し訳なく思います(^_^;)
I feel sorry for the viewers of my blog eventho i dont keep writing my blog.....
今後、また更新していこうと思いますのでよろしくお願いします

最近、つい今年の一月まで働いていた証券会社の自分の教え子が自殺をしました。
One of my trainee just had committed suicide on the other day and i have been feeling really bad for him.
自殺に追い込まれる前に相談してほしかったなと未だに悔しさでたまりません。
He should have told me something before he decides committed suicide... feeling so depressed.
すごく色々なことを考えた1か月になりました。
