6-year-old boy fatally shot during apparent road rage incident on 55 Freeway in Orange
A 6-year-old boy was fatally wounded when a gunman opened fire on the 55 Freeway in Orange, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The suspected shooter fled the scene near West Chapman Avenue as police and paramedics responded shortly after 8 a.m. to what authorities initially characterized as "an isolated road rage incident."
The suspect was last seen heading north on the freeway, which has been closed at the scene, authorities said.
