Palisades fire grows to 1,325 acres; 1,000 residents evacuated in Topanga Canyon
About 1,000 residents have been displaced as firefighters battle a brush fire burning in the Topanga Canyon area of Los Angeles County. The blaze was 0% contained, with flames chewing through dense, old-growth chaparral that hadn't burned in over 50 years, authorities said.
