Supreme Court pauses inmate’s execution to consider request for physical contact, spoken prayers with preacher while put to death
The request by John Ramirez, who was convicted of killing a Texas convenience store worker, is the latest legal dispute over a death-row inmate’s spiritual needs and the security and decorum prison officials say is needed during an execution.
