President Biden forcefully defended his handling of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, including the frantic final evacuation from Kabul airport, and vowed to evacuate Americans who remain in the country.
“I was not going to extend this forever war, and I was not extending a forever exit,” he said. “It was time to end this war,” Biden said Tuesday afternoon in remarks at the White House.
