Jerry Chandler, head of Haiti’s Civil Protection Agency, said Sunday during a news conference that at least 724 people had been confirmed dead after the magnitude 7.2 earthquake.
Many hospitals and clinics were heavily damaged, and officials in Les Cayes believe there are only about 30 doctors for roughly 1 million people.
