Some MBTA service canceled Sunday as Baker urges people to prepare for Tropical Storm Henr

With a dangerous Tropical Storm Henri approaching the region, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker on Friday urged people to stay home when the storm hits Sunday and said up to 1,000 members of the National Guard will be available to assist with any rescues, debris clearing, and other issues.
He and other officials urged people to prepare, warning that the storm could cause an estimated 300,000 power outages as it whips up high winds, batters the coast, and dumps heavy rain. The MBTA is expected to cancel some service Sunday, including on the Mattapan Line and Green Line D branch, in addition to ferry service.
