Alec Baldwin told prop gun was unloaded moments before fatal shooting, reports say
An assistant director handed Baldwin a loaded prop gun on the set of the western “Rust” and told the actor the firearm was “cold,” or unloaded, according to news reports of a warrant affidavit.
The assistant director “did not know live rounds were in” a gun set aside for filming before Baldwin fired the gun, fatally shooting cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza.
