The House gave final approval to raise the debt ceiling until early December, postponing the threat of a first-ever federal default.

President Biden was expected to swiftly sign the bill, only days before the Oct. 18 date by which the government is set to breach its borrowing limit and be unable to meet its debt obligations.
Republicans vowed to reimpose their blockade on a longer-term solution, setting up another congressional showdown in December.
