Jurors in federal court in Boston on Friday convicted two wealthy parents charged in connection with the Varsity Blues college admissions bribery scandal.
The panel of six men and six women found Gamal Abdelaziz, of Las Vegas, and John B. Wilson, of Lynnfield, guilty of conspiracy to commit fraud and bribery. They were accused of paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to get their children into top-tier colleges as fake athletic recruits.
