California to require COVID-19 vaccine for students
California will require all public and private school students to be vaccinated against the coronavirus once the shot receives final approval for younger age groups. The first-in-the-nation mandate creates a state standard in line with steps that school districts like those in Oakland and Los Angeles have already taken to require the vaccine for eligible students. But implementation is still months away, and may not kick in until the next academic year.
