an Irish airliner was forced to land.

(Kihiko Hiraiwa, Former Moscow Correspondent, Jiji Press)
A serious incident has occurred in Belarus, a former Soviet union that continues to be cracked down on by anti-regime forces, in which an Irish airliner passing over it was forced to land.
Ryanair, which operated the operation, called it a "hijacking by the authorities", after Belarusian authorities launched a Mig-29 fighter jet under the pretext of "each other with information on explosives" and forcibly pulled it down to the airport in the capital Minsk.
It is unders been aimed at detaining anti-regime journalists who were among the passengers.
Shocked international community criticized Belarus for "unprecedented acts of state terrorism" (Polish Prime Minister Morawiecki), and the foreign ministers of seven advanced countries (G7), including Japan, also issued statements condemning the incident.
The wind has become stronger than ever for President Lukashenko, who has been called "Europe's last dictator" for acts that endanger not only his own people but also foreigners.
Russia, which fully supports the regime, is also under severe focus.
