地方の機能を限定した都市に集約するスマート都市化が人口減少フェーズの日本では、多くの地方自治体が取り組んでいることだと思います。ハードでは正しいと思いますが、そのハードの上に、どういうソフトを走らせるかが、次に重要になると思います。そのソフトに教育もあります。教育がどう地方創生に貢献できるのか、高崎経済大学さまで、石川先生による講演会が実施されます。



概要：「持続可能な地域」を実現するには、当該地域にどのような紐帯が存在するかが決め手のひとつとなる。研究・教育機関としての大学も当該地域の紐帯となりえます。本講演会では、1957年の創立以後、「全国型公立大学」として各地から学生を集め、4万人以上の卒業生を輩出してきた高崎経済大学を事例にしながら、地域の紐帯たる地方公立大学の持続的発展には、何が必要となるのか、2011年の法人化後、6年間、本学学長を務められた石川弘道先生をお招きし、考えていきます。

Smart urbanization, in which local functions are concentrated in a limited number of cities, is something that many local governments in Japan, in a phase of declining population, are I think this is something that many local governments are working on. I think they are right in terms of hardware, but what kind of software to run on top of that hardware will be the next important step. The next important factor is what kind of software to run on top of the hardware. Education is one of those soft factors. How can education contribute to regional development? Dr. Ishikawa will give a lecture on how education can contribute to regional development at Takasaki University of Economics.

Summary: One of the decisive factors in realizing a "sustainable region" is the type of ties that exist in the region. Universities as research and educational institutions can also be the ties of the concerned region. In this lecture, we will discuss the case of Takasaki City University of Economics, which has attracted students from all over Japan and has produced more than 40,000 graduates since its establishment in 1957 as a "national public university. This lecture will discuss what is needed for the sustainable development of local public universities as regional ties, using Takasaki City University of Economics as a case study, We will discuss this issue with Prof. Hiromichi Ishikawa, who served as President of Takasaki University for 6 years after its incorporation in 2011.
