Castles in Nakagawa-machi
Since Nakagawa-machi is the city consolidated of ex-cities Bato-machi and Ogawa-machi, it covers a vast area. Due to this wild area, it seems we have more than 20 ruins of the castle in the city.
In Bato-mach area, largest castle was Mumo castle. It is kind of Yama-Jiro (mountain castle) which build on mountain to take advantage of the mountain's topography. When you go up castle, you will see many the ruins of Kuruwa (walls of a castle). It was said that Mumo castle was build on some time between 1288 to 1298 and used till 1602.
You cannot see any castle building remaining now but shrine was built on castle now.
