フェモラリスによく似た種類で、
寸詰まり体型・前胸中央部はへこまない・内歯の発達は弱いなど違いが見られます。
フェモラリスのシノニムとされる場合もあります。

当方は亜属扱いにしてますが
細かく分けるとErichius属となります。
もっともErichius Maes,1992自体が無効名って話もありますが。
