ヴェルニカートゥスやクサカベの近縁種と思われます。

Arrow,1950でもこのタイプ標本の写真を見られますが、
どちらもはっきりとはわかりません。

Arrow氏は近縁種3種（vernicatus,nageli,humilis)を分けて記載しており
区別できるのだとは思いますが　亜種くらいのように思われます。
タイプを見る感じだとD.vernicatusはD.humilisの亜種で、
D.kusakabeiはD.nageliの亜種のように見えます。
