ビプラギアトゥスによく似た種類で　本種の亜種とする研究者もいます。
これだという個体は見たことがないのですが、
文献や図鑑から判断すると　歯型の他に前胸が黒化する傾向があることや光沢が強い感じがします。
ミャンマーから♀のみで記載されたヤザキ・ノコギリは本種に近縁なのかもしれません。
