Introducing the charm of “Takeda Castle” chosen as “100 Castles in Japan”
What kind of castle is “Takeda Castle”? One of the best castle ruins in Japan with a complete stone wall!
“Takeda Castle” is a castle located in Takeda, Wadayama-cho, Asago-shi, Hyogo Prefecture.
“Takeda Castle” is a mountain castle located at the top of Mt. Kojyou at an altitude of 353m. It is also called “Torafusujo” because it looks like a tiger seems to be able to lie down.
The size of the castle is about 100m from east to west and about 400m from north to south, and it is built by Honmaru, Ninomaru, Sannomaru, and Minami Ninomaru.
And now, about 400 years have passed since it became an abandoned castle, but the stone wall remains almost perfect, so it has been designated as a national historic site as a “complete stone wall remains”.
What is the history of “Takeda Castle”? An important castle that was a key point in the Sengoku period!
The castle of “Takeda Castle” was built in 1431 by Munezen Yamana, a guardian of Tajima guardian (the warlord who led the Western army in “Onin no ran”), and It is said that Otakigaki (called Yamana ’s four heavenly kings) was the first castle owner.
Because Takeda Castle was near the border between Tajima (Northern Hyogo) and Harima (Southern Hyogo), every time there was a war between Tajima guardian Yamana and Harima guardian Akamatsu It will get caught up in the battle.
In the Sengoku / Azuchi-Momoyama period, Takeda Castle was dropped to Oda's vassal, Kinoshita Hideyoshi (later Toyotomi Hideyoshi), when Western champion Mouri and Oda, who had grown from the east, began to fight. .
And when Masahiro Saimura, who became the lord of the life of Hideyoshi Kinoshita, belonged to the Western Army in the battle of Sekigahara in 1600, Masahiro Saimura self-harm and "Takeda Castle" was abandoned by the Edo Shogunate .
By the way, the current “Takeda Castle” (Ishigaki, etc.) was completed by Masahiro Saimura.
The highlight of “Takeda Castle” is its appearance in the sea of clouds that can only be seen in the fall!
“Takeda Castle” is also known as “Castle in the Sky”. The reason is that Takeda Castle appears to float in the sea of clouds that appears at dawn.
It's often said that it is a Japanese version of “Machu Picchu” or Hayao Miyazaki ’s work “Castle in the Sky, Laputa”.
This is a sight that people who live in Japan want to see once.
