Souvenir de Kyoto ... Zohiko

Following the last time,
I will introduce some reliable shop and souvenir in Kyoto.
This week, I introduce a lacquerware store Zohiko located in Teramachi Street on the north side of Kyoto City Hall where lined with high sense shops.
The appearance of this shop is a exposed concrete.
As soon as you enter inside, fashionable lacquerwares are displayed in a gallery style on your left.
Japanese-style boxes and modern tablewares that are very refined design are displayed orderly.
This is one of my treasures, a set of cup, saucer and spoon.
(The time to drink hot cocoa with this set is my bliss.)
Everything is very beautiful, so every time I visit, I can't decide which I should buy.
There are also some expensive items, but even some products under 10,000yen will get a wonderful lacquerware that are more than your expected.
It is really recommended to everyone sensitive to beautiful things!

Souvenir de Kyoto ... Daigokuden-Seien

Following the last time,
I will introduce some reliable shop and souvenir in Kyoto.
This week, I introduce a Japanese confectionery shop ”Daigokuden-Seien" facing Rokkaku-dori Street.
It is a shop famous for old fashioned castella and beautiful creative sweet beans jelly called 'Yokan'.
(The goodwill changes from time to time.)
Inside this shop, there is a Japanese style coffee shop, you can eat the monthly agar sweets called 'Amber stream', shaved ice and so on.
This is the amber stream in September ... It is grape taste.
(Everything is delicious, but personally, the amber stream of July is the most recommended.)
And, the souvenirs of recommendation in summer season are green 'Yuzu-shigure'
and yellow 'Lace-kan'.
Both of them looks like a jelly cake, but the taste and texture are also sweet beans jelly.
Sweetness is modest and refined citrus flavor.
It is a taste that you can feel 'I am in Kyoto right now.'
It is more delicious when you eat after cooling it with a refrigerator.
Finally, I introduce an old-fashioned castella.
This is the cake which I always buy.
There is not flashy, but there is classic dignity, and the texture of small granulated sugar attached below is splendid.
You can store this cake for approximately one week in a room.
It is recommended!

Souvenir de Kyoto! … Bantera
From this week, I start new series: Souvenir de Kyoto!

I will introduce you carefully selected stores & souvenirs from many souvenir shops in Kyoto.
The first time of this series, I introduce "Bantera" just moved near Nishiki market.

This store sells bamboo and wooden accessories, dishes, cutlery etc.
The interior coordinated in natural color has a sense of cleanliness and is very comfortable.
My recommendation is not miso soup ... is chopsticks and chopsticks stand.
(This shop is not a restaurant.)
The bamboo chopsticks are cut into octagonal shapes from the root to the tip neatly.
It is a stunning chopstick that is easy to use because it has so sharp corner that make me misunderstand
"My hands became dexterous suddenly!"
Even with affordable items, those quality are high level.
When you come to Kyoto, please drop in by all means!

This is Kyoto colored in green... Ginkaku-ji Temple and Honen-in Temple

Following the last time, I introduce summer Kyoto with the keyword "green".
This time, I introduce Ginkaku-ji Temple and Honen-in Temple
First, is Ginkaku-ji Temple that is a world heritage.
It’s amazing that people over 200 years ago designed this modern garden.
The morning at Ginkaku-ji is very refreshing.
If you are confident in your legs, let's climb the cliff and enjoy this view!
Next, is Honen-in Temple which is about 5 minutes on foot from Ginkaku-ji.
It is a small temple that is always covered with tranquility.
When I go to this temple, it makes me feel like time has stopped.
Next week, we will start "Souvenir de Kyoto! Series”.
