Antong Coffee Mill in Malaysia 3

After coffee bean roasting, it move to mix process with a bit of salt and a lot of sugars. After mixed is more like a coffee chocolate more like cooking to me. Those chunks are put into grinders and ready for drink.

After roasting (takes about 30min), roasted beans are manually taken out and cooled down in the bed. Then move to take off coffee chaff (dried skin on a coffee bean) process in separate machine.

Antong Coffee Mill in Malaysia 1

I had a chance to visit Malaysia oldest coffee raster from 1933. It is very interesting to see those old roasters and grinders. Literally direct-fired drum roaster! Malaysian coffee process is interesting for Japanese roasters but that process will come in after next blog. Here are some pictures of roaster.
